Members of the Justice & Peace Group gathered at the war memorial in Tring on Remembrance Sunday afternoon to lay a white poppy Wreath.

The White Poppy has been worn in the run up to Remembrance Day for over 90 years as a symbol of remembrance and peace. They are currently made by the Peace Pledge Union.

White poppies are worn every year by thousands of people across the UK and beyond. They were first produced in 1933, in the aftermath of the First World War by members of the Co-Operative Women’s Guild. Many of these women lost family and friends in the war and they wanted to hold onto the key message of Remembrance Day which is ‘Never Again’.
