At Tring’s Own Apple Fayre on Saturday we were joined by pupils from Bishop Wood School in the Apple Parade calling for our local councils to ‘Say No to Pesticides’.

We have gathered over 1,000 signatures on our honeycomb shaped petitions and via our online petition. There are examples of towns and councils all over the country already going pesticide free – we want Tring Town Council, Dacorum Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council to make this commitment too. We presented the petition to Tring’s Mayor and we will be attending the next Town Council Meeting for our request to be considered. We were delighted our MP Victoria Collins joined us to showing her support.

We are proud to be a Bee friendly Town, we want our local councils to do all they can to protect biodiversity and particularly bees and other insects by saying no to pesticides.
